Fees under the statutes

Under § 6 of the statutes, the association may charge an upfront fee, a transfer fee, a pledging fee and a fee for second-hand occupancy.

  • An upfront fee may be charged together with the capital contribution when the tenant-ownership is granted for the first time. The amount is determined by the board.
  • A transfer fee may be charged to the tenant-owner for administrative work when a tenant-ownership passes to someone else. The fee may not exceed 2,5 per cent of the price base amount.
  • A pledging fee may be charged to the tenant-owner for administrative work when a tenant-ownership is pledged. The percentage is not stated unambiguously in the text of the statutes — contact the board for the current amount.
  • A fee for second-hand occupancy may be charged by decision of the board and may amount to at most 10 per cent of the price base amount per year.

The association may not charge special fees for measures the association is required to take under the Swedish Tenant-Ownership Act or other legislation.

The price base amount follows Chapter 2, sections 6 and 7 of the Swedish Social Insurance Code (2010:110). This is a rendering of the text of the statutes and not legal advice.
